For most of us, our personal coloring will change as we get older. Our hair lightens (gray, silver, white), skin sometimes dulls, and even eye color can lose its vibrancy.
I doubt the aging process changes our seasons, but we may need to tweak how we wear our colors, especially cosmetics.
Twenty years ago, I could wear a very dark plum lipstick and look great. But I can no longer wear it. It makes me look older and duller, who needs that? Maybe some of you have experienced the same thing.
Because our bodies can lose color over time, we need to “brighten” and “lighten” our cosmetic colors. I am not discussing hair color at this point, though I don’t believe you have to lighten it, just tweak the cosmetics…maybe a subject for a future article.
How do you make these color changes?
If you are a warm or warm-neural person and have worn browns, etc., reach for colors like mango, tangerine, coral, copper, terra cotta, etc.
If you are a cool or cool-neutral and have worn plums, think brighter berries, pinks, and reds.
I will be posting some Mary Kay looks for each season showing some alternative colors to try.
If you have any other specific types of cosmetic concerns or questions, let me know. If you have them, I’m sure others do too, and I will try to answer them.
Colorfully yours,
Terry

That would totally explain why the dark winter lips don’t suit me. I’m looking forward to your recommendations.
